2 Nephi 11:2–8
A a) And now I, Nephi, write more
of the words of Isaiah,
b) for my soul
delighteth in his words.
c) For I will liken his words unto my people, (extended alternate with bottom and
also chiasmus)
A1 and I will send them forth unto all my children,
B1 a for he verily
saw my Redeemer,
b even as I
have seen him.
B1‘ a And my brother, Jacob, also has seen him
b as I have seen him; (simple
alternate within chiasmus)
A1‘ wherefore, I will send their words
forth unto my children
A2 to prove unto them that my words are true.
B2 Wherefore, by the words
of three,
C2 God hath said,
C2‘ I will establish my word. Nevertheless, God
B2‘ sendeth more witnesses,
A2‘ and he proveth all his
words. (chiasmus)
B Behold, my soul
delighteth in proving
unto my people
A3 the truth of
the coming of Christ;
B3 for, for this end hath the
law of Moses been given;
B3‘ and all things
which have been given of God from the beginning of
the world, unto man,
A3‘ are the typifying of him.
C And also my soul delighteth in the covenants of the Lord which he hath made to
our fathers;
C’ yea, my soul delighteth in his grace, and in his justice, and power, and mercy in the great and eternal plan of deliverance from death.
B’ And my soul
delighteth in proving
unto my people (nested chiasmus)
A4 That save Christ should come all men must perish.
B4 For if there be no Christ
C4 there be no God;
D4 and if there be no God we are not,
D4‘ for there
could have been no creation.
C4‘ But there is a God,
B4‘ and he is Christ,
A4‘ and he cometh in the fulness of his own time. (chiasmus and also climax)
A’ a) And now I write some
of the words
of Isaiah,
b) that whoso of my people shall see these words may lift up
their hearts and rejoice for all men.
c) Now these are the words, and ye may
liken them unto you
and unto all men.
